Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer. This role is onsite, with the possibly of relocation to Atlanta, GA.
The candidate will execute diverse electrical design tasks associated with computers, encompassing activities ranging from defining products, such as processor boards and peripherals, to overseeing the entire process until the release for production.
Types of projects are usually Intel-based motherboard design, daughter/mezzanine cards, and other complex schematic design with latest technologies such as DDR4 & 5, PCIe gen4 & 5, very large boards (24+ layers), etc. This role requires independent work and architectural ownership of the complete design, including interfacing with layout, mechanical, and software engineering.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Generate necessary design output documentation, such as schematics, drawings, and parts lists, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and assistance to test personnel during the testing phase.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager on special projects, offering necessary support.
- Support Project Management by tracking projects, particularly design plans for new engineering designs.
- Participate in Design Review activities, contributing insights from an engineering perspective.
- Serve as a customer support resource when needed.
- Actively seek opportunities to identify process efficiency improvements and enhancements in products and services, providing input to the continuous improvement team.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or an equivalent degree.
- At least 5 years of engineering design experience.
- Proficiency in handling complex designs.
- Familiarity with Schematic and CAD-PCB layout tools.
- Practical experience in launching new boards.
- Track record of collaborating in multidisciplinary development teams, including coordination with mechanical, software, and other engineers.
- Knowledge of Intel architectures, particularly dual socket Xeon and server-class platforms, is advantageous.
- Experience with high-speed interconnects such as DDR, PCIe, UPI, USB, is beneficial.
- Experience mentoring and leading junior staff members.
- Must be a US citizen or a green card holder.
